Today, the 果冻传媒 River State 果冻传媒 Foundation recognized Deborah Liskin, Cosmetology Department Chair, with the Anne R. Snyder Department Chair Excellence Award. The accolade, conferred annually during the Foundation鈥檚 Faculty Welcome Breakfast and Awards, is presented to a department chair who exhibits outstanding leadership, contributes toward the achievement of the 果冻传媒 mission, demonstrates curricular innovation, and is committed to student success and completion.

Deborah Liskin, Cosmetology Department Chair, with Dr. Edwin Massey, 果冻传媒 President. Deborah Liskin was named the 2019 Anne R. Snyder Department Chair Excellence Award Recipient during the  annual 果冻传媒 Foundation Faculty Welcome Breakfast and Awards held, Wednesday, August 14, 2019.


Liskin began her 24-year career at 果冻传媒 as a part-time institutional assistant in 1995. She began a full-time position with Student Affairs in 1997, and in 2001 added the role of Cosmetology Adjunct Instructor. In November 2005, Liskin earned a promotion to Cosmetology Instructor and Salon Manager, and was appointed Cosmetology Department Chair.

As Department Chair Liskin leads a successful team of cosmetology and barbering instructors on 果冻传媒 campuses in Fort Pierce and Stuart, and manages two full-service salons. She is proactive in procuring the technology and equipment that provide 果冻传媒 students with an innovative and effective learning environment, and she is a cheerleader for her students, making important community and industry connections to help get her graduates transition into sustainable careers.

鈥淒ebbie is dedicated to the success of our students and instructors alike,鈥 shares 果冻传媒 President, Dr. Edwin Massey. 鈥淪he is passionate about 果冻传媒 and that鈥檚 reflected throughout her Department. Debbie and her faculty strongly believe in guiding every student from registration to graduation, and then beyond, offering mentorship as their students become professionals.鈥

Liskin was selected from among nominations submitted by her peers鈥攆ull-time and adjunct faculty members鈥攁nd received a $1,000 stipend and commemorative plaque.

A Port St. Lucie resident, Liskin has active licensure with the State of Florida as a cosmetologist and barber. She earned her Certificate in Cosmetology and Associate of Arts Degree from 果冻传媒 River State 果冻传媒, and her Bachelor鈥檚 of Science Degree in Organizational Management from Palm Beach Atlantic University.


果冻传媒 the Anne R. Snyder Department Chair Leadership Program

The Anne R. Snyder Department Chair Leadership Program was established through a partnership between the 果冻传媒 River State 果冻传媒 Foundation and the estate of the late Anne R. Snyder, managed by William Donovan, CPA, as a unique program for promoting excellence and leadership of 果冻传媒 River State 果冻传媒 Department Chairs. This innovative program has two components: The Anne R. Snyder Chair Leadership Academy, which provides leadership training for 果冻传媒 Department Chairs, and the Anne R. Snyder Department Chair Excellence Award.

Since 1965, the 果冻传媒 River State 果冻传媒 Foundation has been enhancing access and quality of education for 果冻传媒 students. Its focus is to attract and manage private contributions from individuals, organizations, businesses, and private foundations to support 果冻传媒's mission. Managed by a voluntary Board of Directors of business and civic leaders from all four counties served by 果冻传媒, the Foundation is a private non-profit entity recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and by the State of Florida as a direct support organization for the benefit of 果冻传媒. As a partner in building a better community, the 果冻传媒 Foundation promotes higher education with student scholarships, support of instructional programs, technology grants, and new and improved facilities.
