Students ages 12 to 17 have the unique and unparalleled opportunity to learn about wireless technologies at the upcoming Coding with Arduino Bootcamp hosted by LASER-TEC at ¹û¶³´«Ã½ River State ¹û¶³´«Ã½ (¹û¶³´«Ã½). The Arduino Bootcamp starts September 25 and meets weekly through October 30.
Arduino Bootcamp students will turn their hobby into a high-demand skill set as they expand their knowledge of computer coding and electronic circuits. Under the guidance of educators who are well-versed in electronics, programming and inquiry-based education, students will program a light emitting diode (LED) matrix, send and receive data using radio frequency and create controlled-access entry using radio-frequency identification (RFID). Additionally students will add Bluetooth and wireless capabilities to their Arduino microcontroller and learn about the speed of sound and how sonar is used to measure distance. Bootcamp activities culminate in a final project where students build their own Arduino from scratch.
The Coding with Arduino Bootcamp takes place on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. from September 25 through October 30 in the Brown Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship on the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Main Campus at 3209 Virginia Avenue in Fort Pierce. Cost for the Bootcamp is $225 and includes a customized, complimentary kit valued at $100, which participants take home.
