¹û¶³´«Ã½ HOSA Team Excels at State Leadership Conference

¹û¶³´«Ã½ River State ¹û¶³´«Ã½ students consistently excel at local, statewide, and national competition—earning top recognition for their academic, creative, and athletic achievement. The ¹û¶³´«Ã½â€™s Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) students’ performance at the organization’s State Leadership Conference is a shining example of the exceptionalism demonstrated by ¹û¶³´«Ã½ students.

At the conference, held March 28-31 in Orlando, diligent competition in their events earned five HOSA students four gold medals, two bronze medals, and two gold recognition medals.

The following are each of the recognitions and awards earned by the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ HOSA team at the State Leadership Conference:

• Victoria Buezo
  Researched Persuasive Writing and Speaking: 3rd Place—Bronze Medal
  Healthcare Issues Exam: Gold Recognition Medal
  HOSA Happenings (Newsletter and Publication): Gold Recognition Medal

• Sabby Hightower
  Leadership Event (Healthy Lifestyle): 1st place—Gold Medal
  Courtesy Corps Winner: 1st Place—Gold Medal

• Aeyanna Lucero
  Leadership Event (Extemporaneous Health Poster): 1st Place—Gold Medal
  $700 HOSA Scholarship: Alternate recipient

• Kayla Senger
  Medical Spelling: 3rd Place—Bronze Medal

• Dieuliette Joseph
  Health Science Event (KT – Behavioral Health): 1st Place—Gold Medal

Participation in the State Leadership Conference culminated with the recognition of the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ HOSA team on-stage to induct ¹û¶³´«Ã½ River State ¹û¶³´«Ã½ into the National HOSA Association.

The ¹û¶³´«Ã½ HOSA team members will now move forward to compete at the International HOSA Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida held June 19-23, 2019. Congratulations to our HOSA students for their well-earned recognition and achievement!
